Basic requirements for automotive wiring harnesses
1. Harness dimensions shall meet the following requirements:
The length of trunk line and protective casing should not be less than 100mm, and be a multiple of 10. Such as: 100mm, 110mm, 120mm, etc.
The length of branch line should not be less than 30mm.
The distance between contacts and branch points should not be less than 20mm.
When the connection between the wire and the terminal needs to be equipped with an insulating sleeve, the length of the insulating sleeve shall not be less than 20mm.
The contact shall meet the following requirements:
The conductor shall not be broken and the cross section of the contact shall conform to the requirements of Appendix A.
When using brazing method, corrosive flux is not allowed. Solder joints should be smooth, do not allow leakage, penetration, flux inclusion and other defects.
When the solderless welding method is adopted, oxidation, wire breaking, defect and melting of insulation layer are not allowed on the surface of the welding place. As shown in the figure below, the welded and unwelded transition part a should be circular arc, and the unwelded conductor end can be seen in zone b.
The contact should be firm and should not be damaged or detached under the specified tension.
